2019 DCC Award: 1st Place Cementitious Overlays Over 5,000 Square Feet
In Georgetown, Texas, situated at the highest elevation in Williamson County, is a gorgeous 40-acre property with views of sunsets and lights of the city of Round Rock beyond. When the current owner of the property took over, he knew he wanted to turn it into a special venue for weddings and other events. To fulfill his vision for the space that would eventually be known as Celebrino Event Center, he needed to address the existing concrete surfaces—that’s where SUNDEK of Austin came in to help.
The concrete on the property had been so damaged by 18 wheelers that much of it needed to be removed and repoured. Knowing he wanted more than just plain gray concrete slabs, the owner hired an architect to draw up plans for a design for the patio gathering area and walkways that would look beautiful in the many photos that would be taken at the venue.

SUNDEK of Austin resurfaced more than 10,000 square feet of concrete at the Celebrino Event Center, adding to the serene ambiance of the popular wedding venue.
SUNDEK of Austin began assessing the architect’s drawings to come up with a solution for the surfaces. They proposed Classic Texture with a three-color aggregate effect. Classic Texture is SUNDEK’s knockdown texture product, known in the industry as being one of the best surface solutions. In addition to being aesthetically customizable, it’s also loved by property owners for its slip resistance, easy maintenance, and longevity. These qualities make it the perfect solution for this property which would ultimately host thousands of guests every year.
After creating several samples and getting approvals, SUNDEK set out to install the coatings after the new concrete was ready to go. “For the patio, it was a pretty intricate design,” says SUNDEK of Austin sales representative Zach Wheeler. To create the pattern for this gathering area, crews used hoses to tape off the design and get it just right.
The patio was the only area with a pattern. For all other areas, SUNDEK of Austin used one solid color as the base, with exposed aggregate. Aggregate effects are effective in adding dimension of color and texture while also camouflaging any dirt and grime that might get tracked onto the surface. It also helps with slip resistance.
To get the two-colored pattern for the patio space just right, the SUNDEK of Austin used hoses to lay out and tape off the design. Cool Deck Coatings for Pools
