In recent years, pickleball has seen a surge in popularity, leading many property owners to seek pickleball courts for their residential backyards or commercial areas. If you’re considering installing a pickleball court, SUNDEK of Austin is here to assist.
Where to install a pickleball court
If you have a concrete slab that isn’t being used enough and you’d like to use the space differently, SUNDEK of Austin can transform it into a pickleball court. There’s no need to remove the existing concrete and start fresh—we can use your current slab, provided it’s the appropriate size.
How large is a pickleball court?
According to USA Pickleball, the minimum recommended playing area is 30 feet in width and 60 feet in length, while the official playing lines are 20 feet wide and 44 feet long. Residential and commercial property owners have flexibility in choosing the dimensions of their court, but we provide these specifications to help clients achieve a standard court size if that’s their preference.
How is a pickleball court installed?
SUNDEK of Austin offers two approaches to installing a pickleball court. Some clients prefer to simply have the court painted with colors and lines, while others want a certified cushioned surface.
- For those interested in just colors and lines, we use the SunColor system, a durable, water-based acrylic finish that’s easy to maintain.
- For those seeking a cushioned surface, we install the SunCourt system. This option offers a more comfortable playing experience, as it’s gentler on joints compared to plain concrete. The color is integrated directly into the cushioned coating.
